In 2008 the Little Miss Capital City Pageant www.littlemisscapitalcity.com was
developed to raise funds for the Girls Self-Esteem Program. Professional ballet dancers from New York performed at the event. It has since become a tradition. Little Miss Capital City is the sole and signature yearly fund-raising event for the Sacramento Girls Self-Esteem Program. In 2010 the National Girls Self-Esteem and Youth Self-Esteem Programs were launched along with our National Ambassador Youth Spokesperson Scholarship Competition. In each city where an Ambassador Search is successfully launched mentors will develop Youth Self-Esteem and Girls Self-Esteem Program Chapters.

About our Ambassador Programs
G-SEP Self-Esteem Super Bowl Pageants are
separate from the Girls Self-Esteem Program and Boys Self-Esteem Program. They are not the dysfunctional "Kids in Drag" pageants seen on television. Every participant wins a title award for participating in our Self-Esteem Formal Presentations and Graduations.
G-SEP's Ambassador Program was created solely to raise funds
for local G-SEP and B-SEP Chapters. Our Ambassador and local pageants are traditional formal presentations/pageants like the thousands held every year across America, at county
fairs, dance studios, social clubs and kids programs. While pageants
featuring children in what many consider "Drag" get all the attention
in the media, it is important to understand that most pageants do not require
makeup, hair pieces, acrylic nails or high heeled shoes for girls as young
as two.
In G-SEP Pageants and Ambassador Competitions, children are allowed to be children. The average grade point
average of a G-SEP Ambassador candidate is 3.8.
Most of our contestants wear their hair in
ponytails, and model dresses made by relatives, or bought at department
stores. Boys wear suits or play outfits. Our entry fee is approximately $2,000
less than the pageant entry fees of those featured on television, . Funds raised for the Girls and Youth Self-Esteem Programs (through our Ambassador and Pageant formal presentations) help to purchase items such as chairs and desks for our youth programs, rent, office support and all the many things needed to fund a first class event for youth.
Unlike most pageants all our contestants win awards based on grades,
attitude, personality and citizenship.
The highlight of our year is our July National Production Pageant where boys
and girls of all ages have the rare opportunity to perform on a
theatrical stage with professional dancers from New York City. The
professional ballerinas work with the contestants on poise, presentation, grace
and self-esteem.
Pageant night is a Self-Esteem Super bowl. Parents bring posters, bells,
whistles...they yell and heap praise and acceptance on their sons and
daughters. The show is televised locally. In 2010 more than 600 people attended the
Little Miss Capital City Pageant. It was also televised live.
